are farmed in Broad Bay at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. They thrive in this location as they are grown in waters mostly surrounded by one of our state parks and just a few miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The salinity ranges from 22ppt-26ppt creating a great environment to farm big salty Lynnhaven Oysters.
If you didn’ catch it, Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) covered the Comeback of the Lynnhaven Oyster. Karen Forget of Lynnhaven River Nowis featured and discusses the progress of the river clean-up over the years. CBN joined us on the boat, and it was a great opportunity to show them how we harvest the Lynnhaven Oysters.
